SPRING HILL A man was arrested Sunday following accusations he broke into a bedroom with hedge clippers and struck his brother in the knees with a golf club.

The Hernando County Sheriff's Office responded that morning to 9267 Chase St.

The arresting deputy said she noticed a large hole in the bedroom door. She also noticed the accuser had red and swollen knees, according to an arrest affidavit.

Jonathan Mills Rowe, 58, was charged with aggravated domestic battery. He was booked shortly after 10 a.m. at the Hernando County Jail and held without bail.

Deputies said Rowe argued with his brother, who shoved his attacker and retreated to a bedroom.

Rowe broke into the room with the clippers, picked up a golf club and went after his brother, according to the sheriff's office.

The accuser picked up a vacuum cleaner and defended himself with it and Rowe's son intervened in an attempt to break up the fight, deputies said.

Rowe swung several times and struck his brother once in the head with the club and several more times in the knees, according to the affidavit.
